I’ve also watched small businesses get sold pretty things that don’t work.

Charging someone a premium for branding that falls apart the moment it leaves the mockup is just wrong. A logo with transparencies that only works on a white background. No vector file, so it blurs the second you scale it. Fonts and colors that fail WCAG contrast and shut out anyone with a visual disability. That script font on a watercolor background is gorgeous in the presentation. Then you try to put it on a sign, or a business card, or a dark background, and you find out what you actually paid for.

Websites go the same way. If nobody explains the options, it’s easy to get talked into something you didn’t need. Bloated pages that load slowly. Content that search engines and LLMs can’t understand. Nothing that answers your customer’s real questions or moves them toward the action you need them to take. And underneath it all, a monthly subscription to a platform that owns your content, with costs you don’t control.

It always felt wrong to be building this for corporations who could afford the best solutions while people like me were getting taken advantage of.

So I built a studio around a different idea: give people exactly enough. A clean, professional, accessible brand. A site you actually own. And the knowledge to run it yourself.

No lock-in. No mystery. No upsell treadmill. I do offer maintenance, and if you’re busy making the thing only you can make, hand it to me. But you’ll never have to. The instructions come with the site.
