For indie & self-published authors

Author websites that sell books & grow your readership.

Built for authors who want real control over how readers discover, follow, and buy, a home base that turns one-time readers into a fan base that shows up for every release.

A professional custom website ensures you’re not losing sales to authors who look more established even if their writing isn’t as good as yours.

Social platforms rent you an audience. A website is one you own.

Why your own site matters

Algorithms change, accounts get shadow-banned, platforms disappear, and an Amazon Author page isn’t enough. Your website and mailing list are the one place your readers can always find you and the one asset no one can take away.

Own your platform

A home base that’s yours not rented from a network that could vanish tomorrow.

Sell on your terms

Link every retailer, sell direct, and showcase your whole catalog front and center.

Grow your list

Turn browsers into subscribers with a reader magnet and a list that’s yours forever.

Whatever you write you're safe here.

Every genre, every pen name

Romance, erotica, horror, queer lit, spicy fantasy, or something the trad-pub world won’t touch. Multiple pen names, discreet author identities, age-gated content, I build for it all, with zero judgment and total discretion.

A clear process, start to launch.

How it works

Great author sites come from clarity up front with your catalog, your links, your voice. That groundwork protects your investment and keeps your launch on schedule.

01

Free consult

We talk through your books, your goals, and your readers, and confirm we’re a good fit.

02

Deposit + Intake & Content Workbook

Where it starts

You complete the Intake & Content Workbook: defining your basic content needs, book list, buy links, bio, etc. The project can’t begin until that’s in. I’ll provide you with a full Scope of Work and the invoice for the first piece of the project (usually 50%). This keeps your build accurate and on time.

03

Build

I design and build your site around your brand, catalog, book pages, buy links, and a mailing-list signup that converts.

04

Review & refine

You review everything, we polish the details, and make sure every buy link and book description is right before launch.

05

Launch + training

We launch on your hosting, and I show you how to add new releases yourself. You own everything.

Most authors don't need Wix you need to own your platform.

No hostages

Wix is easy to start with, but it quietly boxes you in. Here’s the honest comparison for authors building something long-term.

WIX

WordPress - What I build

Already on Wix? I can rebuild your site on WordPress and migrate your content so you keep the words, and lose the lock-in.

Handled properly.

The two things authors always need

Your mailing list, set up right

Your list is the one audience you truly own. I’ll connect your provider (MailerLite, ConvertKit, and friends), build a signup that converts, and wire up a reader-magnet flow so it grows while you write with no tech headaches.

A custom template that's actually yours

Not a theme thousands of other authors are using. A design built around your genre, your covers, and your voice so your site feels like your books, and you can keep evolving it as your catalog grows.

The essentials, baked in.

Every Emberloom site includes

Add-ons for authors.

Add only what you need

Launch Kit

New to this? I’ll set you up on your own hosting, domain, and a pro author email so you own the whole stack.

Sell direct

Buy buttons, simple checkout, and links to every retailer, sell signed copies or ebooks straight from your site.

Reader magnets & extras

Bonus scenes, free-chapter,  novella, or charcter art delivery flow wired to your mailing list, so your list grows on autopilot.

Care Plan

Between releases, I keep your site updated, backed up, and secure, so it’s ready when your next launch is.

Before you launch

Is your logo as readable as your books?

A watercolor PNG that turns to mud on a dark banner or vanishes as a favicon undersells every thing it sits on. Authors need a real Brand System with vector based, accessible logos, and a WCAG compliant palette and font system that provides legiblity everywhere you need to appear.

Authors most common queries.

Questions, answered

What if I'm still writing my first book?

Perfect timing! Having your site ready before launch makes your book release smoother. We can build a “Coming Soon” site now and update it when you’re ready to publish.

Home, About/Bio, Books with buy now buttons, Reading Order or Series. Contact, newsletter signup, and group invitation CTAs (calls to action) are also included.

Yes! A blog for author updates, new book progress meter, events/appearances page, reader extras (bonus scenes, character art), or merch page with buy now buttons are available as add-ons.

We can structure your site to accommodate multiple pen names or clearly separate different series/genres as an add-on. If you’d like each pen name to have it’s own site, please schedule a call and we can talk about how a “multisite” add-on can support you.

Absolutely. We’ll include buy buttons or links for Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Apple Books, Kobo, direct sales, or wherever your books live.

It helps, but we can work with what you have and you can update the images later yourself or engage me when you need site updates.

Yes! We can integrate Mailchimp, ConvertKit, or another email provider as part of your site setup.

Substack or Patreon setup can be arranged as an add-on.

You do. If you need a domain and hosting when we start the project, I’ll help you choose and setup your hosting and domain.

Yes. Every site comes with an hour of training at launch, and then a second hour scheduled within the first 30 days.

You’ll also have site documentation that will walk you through the most common updates you’ll need to make.

Absolutely, I can. Since Wix can’t export a site, while I’m building your new WordPress site I migrate your content by hand. When I’m done you’ll have a site you can move to any hosting company in the future, this allows you to best control your costs.

There are various ways and levels to age gate. We’ll need to discuss what type of age gate you need. Plugins that provide age verfication will include a subscription fee.
